I'm sure some users of this site would prefer it to be ALL in te Reo Māori. Personally, I don't mind, but I know very little Māori, and the site is not designed to benefit people like me in any direct way. Te reo Māori preferable for articles, definitely; but Pākehā better than nothing, because some visitors may be good at translating but not inspired to write fresh material. I'm not so sure
takatāFor a moment, when writing the article, I thought it might be helpful to provide an explanation of how Māori words have been adopted into New Zealand English (en_NZ). Later I had second thoughts: perhaps it would be better to show how English words have influenced Māori, ie, loan words, eg, "miraka", and the more recent trend of finding an appropriate term, eg, "waka rererangi".
If the Ingarei page is the only one in English, there's probably no way non-te reo speakers are going to find it. :-)

- Hmmm - maybe:
- use more internal links (eg on Wikipedia:Kōrero and Community portal) to bring people to this article
- send your hoa and kaiako the URL for a half-Maori page and invite them to come in and Whakamāoritia to their hearts' content
- put some of your ideas on the en:Maori_language page and invite said friends to translate it onto here from there

Reo Pākehā/Reo Ingarihi
takatāOne gets the impression from recent editing by experts that reo Pākehā is New Zealand English, leaving reo Ingarihi as "The Queen's English" (BBC etc). Experts may like to clarify. !!!!
