Working on this. I note that Parakai is the transliteration for Paraguay, but there is an article on the West Auckland suburb of that name. On the English Wikipedia, there's a pretty strong principle that a country has a right to the name and any name clash is dealt with by disambiguating other names, so assuming we follow the same principle, what would be an appropriate disambiguation for the suburb?-gadfium (talk) 22:46, 10 Tīhema 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Gadfium, I've translated everything I could.

  • One minor thing: in the infobox, on the line Whenua, where it says "(Mātai Whenua Torangapū)", that Tōrangapū is missing its macron on the , but this doesn't seem to show up in the code for me to edit.
  • Suburb is "tapa tāone" so I guess that article should be renamed "Parakai (tapa tāone)"?
  • This also reminds me to ask a more general set of questions about disambiguations: Has this wiki established any yet? Has a Māori translation for the the word disambiguation been established yet? How do I create a disambiguation page? You'll see I've entered a disambiguation message at the top of this article, is it formatted correctly? Hāpara (talk) 18:40, 12 Tīhema 2015 (UTC)Reply
The infobox text is in {{Infobox continent}}, and I've added the macron.
I've moved Parakai to Parakai (tapa tāone) and fixed the one valid link to it.
Disambiguation pages appear to be in Category:Tikanga maha
On English Wikipedia, we only have a hatnote directing readers who may have ended up at an unintended place if the other article exists, so the hatnote you have added may not be necessary until an article on the southern US is written. I can copy templates such as {{For}} from the English Wikipedia to make formatting of hatnotes easier, although translating such templates might be painful because they contain so many conditionals that it's hard to work out what's required. Name change ?

Should it be moved to Amerika-ki-te-tonga to be more in line with other pages like Āwherika-ki-te-raki, Āhia-ki-te-Rāwhiti etc ? Thomas Norren (talk) 03:23, 26 Hepetema 2022 (UTC)Reply
