Proposal: Set two-letter project shortcuts as alias to project namespace globally
takatāPlease help translate to your language
Hello everyone,
I apologize for posting in English. I would like to inform everyone that I created a new global request for comment (GRFC) at Meta Wiki, which may affect your project: m:Requests for comment/Set short project namespace aliases by default globally.
In this GRFC, I propose that two-project shortcuts for project names will become a default alias for the project namespace. For instance, on all Wikipedias, WP will be an alias to the Wikipedia: namespace (and similar for other projects). Full list is available in the GRFC.
This is already the case for Wikivoyages, and many individual projects asked for this alias to be implemented. I believe this makes it easier to access the materials in the project namespace, as well as creating shortcuts like WP:NPOV, as well as helps new projects to use this feature, without having to figure out how to request site configuration changes first.
As far as I can see, Wikipedia currently does not have such an alias set. This means that such an alias will be set for you, if the GRFC is accepted by the global community.
I would like to ask all community members to participate in the request for comment at Meta-Wiki, see m:Requests for comment/Set short project namespace aliases by default globally.
Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions about this proposal.
Best regards,
--Martin Urbanec (talk) 14:12, 18 Pēpuere 2021 (UTC)
Do you want to be among the first to get Reference Previews as a default feature?
takatā[Sorry, for writing in English. It would be great if you could add a translation.]
In the near future, editors and readers can get pop-ups for references in the same style as Page Previews: Reference Previews will soon be deployed to a first group of wikis as a default feature. They are an addition to the existing Page Previews feature, and both features will share the same setting, so they can be toggled on and off together per user.
Reference Previews show you a reference in a small pop-up when you hover over the reference number in square brackets. This way you can look up a reference without jumping down to the bottom of the page. More than 300 people on mi.wikipedia are currently testing Reference Previews as a beta feature. After many months of testing, bug fixing and other improvements, the feature will soon be enabled as a default feature.
New features like this are deployed in multiple batches, to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are now looking for a group of wikis who want to have the feature first. We were thinking of Maori Wikipedia as a good wiki for this because it already uses templates with classes which can show the reference types in the pop-up. As an example, see the second reference on Whangārei-terenga-paraoa.
If you want to know more about the feature, please have a look at the project page or write me a message on my talk page. We would be very excited to have Maori Wikipedia on board! -- For the Technical Wishes team at Wikimedia Germany, Johanna Strodt (WMDE) (talk) 09:29, 26 Pēpuere 2021 (UTC)

Universal Code of Conduct – 2021 consultations
takatāUniversal Code of Conduct Phase 2
takatāPlease help translate to your language
The Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) provides a universal baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire Wikimedia movement and all its projects. The project is currently in Phase 2, outlining clear enforcement pathways. You can read more about the whole project on its project page.
Drafting Committee: Call for applications
takatāThe Wikimedia Foundation is recruiting volunteers to join a committee to draft how to make the code enforceable. Volunteers on the committee will commit between 2 and 6 hours per week from late April through July and again in October and November. It is important that the committee be diverse and inclusive, and have a range of experiences, including both experienced users and newcomers, and those who have received or responded to, as well as those who have been falsely accused of harassment.
To apply and learn more about the process, see Universal Code of Conduct/Drafting committee.
2021 community consultations: Notice and call for volunteers / translators
takatāFrom 5 April – 5 May 2021 there will be conversations on many Wikimedia projects about how to enforce the UCoC. We are looking for volunteers to translate key material, as well as to help host consultations on their own languages or projects using suggested key questions. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these roles, please contact us in whatever language you are most comfortable.
To learn more about this work and other conversations taking place, see Universal Code of Conduct/2021 consultations.
Global bot policy changes
takatāHello!
I apologize for sending a message in English. Please help translate to your language. According to the list, your wiki project is currently opted in to the global bot policy. As such, I want to let you know about some changes that were made after the global RfC was closed.
- Global bots are now subject to a 2 week discussion, and it'll be publicized via a MassMessage list, available at Bot policy/New global bot discussion on Meta. Please subscribe yourself or your wiki if you are interested in new global bots proposals.
- For a bot to be considered for approval, it must demonstrate it is welcomed in multiple projects, and a good way to do that is to have the bot flag on at least 5 wikis for a single task.
- The bot operator should make sure to adhere to the wiki's preference as related to the use of the bot flag (i.e., if a wiki doesn't want a bot to use the flag as it edits, that should be followed).
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
—Thanks for the fish! talk•contribs 18:48, 6 Āperira 2021 (UTC)
Line numbering coming soon to all wikis
takatāFrom April 15, you can enable line numbering in some wikitext editors - for now in the template namespace, coming to more namespaces soon. This will make it easier to detect line breaks and to refer to a particular line in discussions. These numbers will be shown if you enable the syntax highlighting feature (CodeMirror extension), which is supported in the 2010 and 2017 wikitext editors.
More information can be found on this project page. Everyone is invited to test the feature, and to give feedback on this talk page.
Suggested Values
takatāFrom April 29, it will be possible to suggest values for parameters in templates. Suggested values can be added to TemplateData and will then be shown as a drop-down list in VisualEditor. This allows template users to quickly select an appropriate value. This way, it prevents potential errors and reduces the effort needed to fill the template with values. It will still be possible to fill in values other than the suggested ones.
More information, including the supported parameter types and how to create suggested values: [1] [2]. Everyone is invited to test the feature, and to give feedback on this talk page.
New Place Name Dictionary
takatāKia ora! As you may know, I've been making Te Reo articles of Australian places, such as my article about Newcastle, NSW (Niukāhera). I would just like to point out there is a dictionary of Māori place names you can use. Feel free to use it; https://www.yumpu.com/id/document/read/12175617/a-preliminary-dictionary-of-maori-gainwords-volume-3
- I need a bit of help linking them with the English articles via Wikidata though. Also, I made an appendix of Aussie place names if anyone needs it.
- I've linked the new articles on Wikidata.-gadfium (talk) 01:49, 2 Mei 2021 (UTC)

Editing news 2021 #2
takatāRead this in another language • Subscription list for this multilingual newsletter
Earlier this year, the Editing team ran a large study of the Reply Tool. The main goal was to find out whether the Reply Tool helped newer editors communicate on wiki. The second goal was to see whether the comments that newer editors made using the tool needed to be reverted more frequently than comments newer editors made with the existing wikitext page editor.
The key results were:
- Newer editors who had automatic ("default on") access to the Reply tool were more likely to post a comment on a talk page.
- The comments that newer editors made with the Reply Tool were also less likely to be reverted than the comments that newer editors made with page editing.
These results give the Editing team confidence that the tool is helpful.
Looking ahead
The team is planning to make the Reply tool available to everyone as an opt-out preference in the coming months. This has already happened at the Arabic, Czech, and Hungarian Wikipedias.
The next step is to resolve a technical challenge. Then, they will deploy the Reply tool first to the Wikipedias that participated in the study. After that, they will deploy it, in stages, to the other Wikipedias and all WMF-hosted wikis.
You can turn on "Discussion tools" in Beta Features now. After you get the Reply tool, you can change your preferences at any time in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion.

Server switch
takatāRead this message in another language • Please help translate to your language
The Wikimedia Foundation tests the switch between its first and secondary data centers. This will make sure that Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia wikis can stay online even after a disaster. To make sure everything is working, the Wikimedia Technology department needs to do a planned test. This test will show if they can reliably switch from one data centre to the other. It requires many teams to prepare for the test and to be available to fix any unexpected problems.
Unfortunately, because of some limitations in MediaWiki, all editing must stop while the switch is made. We apologize for this disruption, and we are working to minimize it in the future.
You will be able to read, but not edit, all wikis for a short period of time.
- You will not be able to edit for up to an hour on Tuesday, 29 June 2021. The test will start at 14:00 UTC (07:00 PDT, 10:00 EDT, 15:00 WEST/BST, 16:00 CEST, 19:30 IST, 23:00 JST, and in New Zealand at 02:00 NZST on Wednesday 30 June).
- If you try to edit or save during these times, you will see an error message. We hope that no edits will be lost during these minutes, but we can't guarantee it. If you see the error message, then please wait until everything is back to normal. Then you should be able to save your edit. But, we recommend that you make a copy of your changes first, just in case.
Other effects:
- Background jobs will be slower and some may be dropped. Red links might not be updated as quickly as normal. If you create an article that is already linked somewhere else, the link will stay red longer than usual. Some long-running scripts will have to be stopped.
- There will be code freezes for the week of June 28. Non-essential code deployments will not happen.
Help

Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election has come to an end
takatāThank you for participating in the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election! Voting closed August 31 at 23:59. The official data, including the four most voted candidates, will be announced as soon as the Elections Committee completes their review of the ballots. The official announcement of the new trustees appointed will happen later, once the selected candidates have been confirmed by the Board.
6,946 community members from 216 wiki projects have voted. This makes 10.2% global participation, 1.1% higher than in the last Board elections. In 2017, 5167 people from 202 wiki projects cast their vote. A full analysis is planned to be published in a few days when the confirmed results are announced. In the meantime, you can check the data produced during the election.
Diversity was an important goal with these elections. Messages about the Board election were translated into 61 languages. This outreach worked well. There were 70 communities with eligible voters voting in this election for the first time. With your help, next year’s Board of Trustees election will be even better.

The 2022 Community Wishlist Survey will happen in January
takatāHello everyone,
We hope all of you are as well and safe as possible during these trying times! We wanted to share some news about a change to the Community Wishlist Survey 2022. We would like to hear your opinions as well.
Summary:
We will be running the Community Wishlist Survey 2022 in January 2022. We need more time to work on the 2021 wishes. We also need time to prepare some changes to the Wishlist 2022. In the meantime, you can use a dedicated sandbox to leave early ideas for the 2022 wishes.
Proposing and wish-fulfillment will happen during the same year
takatāIn the past, the Community Tech team has run the Community Wishlist Survey for the following year in November of the prior year. For example, we ran the Wishlist for 2021 in November 2020. That worked well a few years ago. At that time, we used to start working on the Wishlist soon after the results of the voting were published.
However, in 2021, there was a delay between the voting and the time when we could start working on the new wishes. Until July 2021, we were working on wishes from the Wishlist for 2020.
We hope having the Wishlist 2022 in January 2022 will be more intuitive. This will also give us time to fulfill more wishes from the 2021 Wishlist.
Encouraging wider participation from historically excluded communities
takatāWe are thinking how to make the Wishlist easier to participate in. We want to support more translations, and encourage under-resourced communities to be more active. We would like to have some time to make these changes.
A new space to talk to us about priorities and wishes not granted yet
takatāWe will have gone 365 days without a Wishlist. We encourage you to approach us. We hope to hear from you in the talk page, but we also hope to see you at our bi-monthly Talk to Us meetings! These will be hosted at two different times friendly to time zones around the globe.
We will begin our first meeting September 15th at 23:00 UTC. More details about the agenda and format coming soon!
Brainstorm and draft proposals before the proposal phase
takatāIf you have early ideas for wishes, you can use the new Community Wishlist Survey sandbox. This way, you will not forget about these before January 2022. You will be able to come back and refine your ideas. Remember, edits in the sandbox don't count as wishes!
Feedback
takatā- What should we do to improve the Wishlist pages?
- How would you like to use our new sandbox?
- What, if any, risks do you foresee in our decision to change the date of the Wishlist 2022?
- What will help more people participate in the Wishlist 2022?
Answer on the talk page (in any language you prefer) or at our Talk to Us meetings.

takatāPlease use Māori place names (if known/available) when creating articles about cities, countries (see this website for a list of country names in Māori), states or towns. For example; Poihākena for Sydney, Rānana for London, Parī for Paris, Hākata for Jakarta and so on. Could someone move these articles for me?
- Georgia to Hōria (Hononga-o-Amerika)
- Los Angeles to Ngā Anahera
- Moutere Faroe (Tenemāka) to Ngā Motu Wharo
- New York to Niu Ioka (whenua)
- New York City to Niu Ioka
- San Francisco to Hana Panahiko
- Washington to Wahingitana (whenua)
- Washington DC to Wahingitana (tāone nui)
For more Māori place names and words, see Māori Dictionary. Thanks. 144.136.10.9 02:58, 25 Hepetema 2021 (UTC)
- -IMHO only- Anybody with an account (its creating is simple and give more serious attitude) can move pages himself. But it is not recommended to move pages without knowing about reasons why they were created in existing way. Upcoming Call for Feedback about the Board of Trustees elections
takatā- You can find this message translated into additional languages on Meta-wiki.
The Board of Trustees is preparing a call for feedback about the upcoming Board Elections, from January 7 - February 10, 2022.
While details will be finalized the week before the call, we have confirmed at least two questions that will be asked during this call for feedback:
- What is the best way to ensure fair representation of emerging communities among the Board?
- What involvement should candidates have during the election?
While additional questions may be added, the Movement Strategy and Governance team wants to provide time for community members and affiliates to consider and prepare ideas on the confirmed questions before the call opens. We apologize for not having a complete list of questions at this time. The list of questions should only grow by one or two questions. The intention is to not overwhelm the community with requests, but provide notice and welcome feedback on these important questions.
Do you want to help organize local conversation during this Call?
Contact the Movement Strategy and Governance team on Meta, on Telegram, or via email at msg wikimedia.org.
Reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The Movement Strategy and Governance team will be minimally staffed until January 3. Please excuse any delayed response during this time. We also recognize some community members and affiliates are offline during the December holidays. We apologize if our message has reached you while you are on holiday.
Best,
Movement Strategy and Governance
New name for Māori Wikipedia
takatāIn Māori, the letter D doesn't exist. The Hawaiian Wikipedia is Wikipikia and the Tahitian one is Vitipitia. So I think we should make the Māori one Wikipītia. Could someone fix the logo (maybe an admin like @Gadfium)? Thanks. 101.190.65.131
- I think that's above my pay grade. If we had an active community, we could discuss it with a procedure similar to the English Wikipedia's RFC (request for comment) and take a recommendation to the WikiMedia Foundation based on the results. Anyone is most welcome to discuss a change of logo/name here; perhaps the discussion will draw interest from Māori-speaking Wikipedians.-gadfium (talk) 01:31, 6 Noema 2021 (UTC)
- I suggested this because again, the letter D doesn't exist in Māori. The Tahitian Wikipedia is Vitipetia because there is no D, K, or W in Tahitian and the Hawaiian one is Wikipikia because there is no D or T in Hawaiian. The Welsh one is Wicipedia, the Irish one is Vicipéid, the Scots Gaelic one is Uicipéid, the Nauruan one is Wikipediya, the Norfuk/Pitkern one is Wikapiidiya, the Catalan one is Viquipédia, the French, Portuguese, Balinese and Tetun ones is Wikipédia, the Scots one is Wikipaedia, the Navajo one is Wikibíídiya, the Cebuano one is Wikipedya, the Nāhutal one is Huiquipedia and so on. I think we should consider making the Māori one Wikipītia, considering Māori almost always adopts exonymns due to its grammar and spelling rule (i.e the Māori alphabet is A, Ā, E, Ē, H, I, Ī, K, M, N, Ng, O, Ō, P, R, T, U, Ū, W, Wh and there has to be a vowel after every consonant, therefore no Māori word ends in a consonant). Thanks. 101.190.65.131 21:27, 6 Noema 2021 (UTC)
- I was thinking that to change the name required more than changing the logo, e.g. the Wikipedia namespace would need to change name, but looking at the Hawaiian and Tahitian Wikipedias I see they have not changed this.
I think the procedure to change the logo is to file a request at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/. Please do not do this yourself. We would need a consensus on this Wikipedia, and given the lack of contributors I'm not sure how we could establish one.-gadfium (talk) 01:42, 7 Noema 2021 (UTC) - The procedure to change it is m:Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes#Changing_a_wiki's_logo. The current logo is at commons:File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-mi.svg. If you have the skill, I suggest you take this and modify it to say "Wikipītia", then upload it to commons under a new name (don't overwrite the existing one, that won't work and will confuse the process).-gadfium (talk) 02:13, 7 Noema 2021 (UTC)

Vote: Rename Māori Wikipedia to Wikipītia
takatā- The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The request for comment or vote has run for a full month, and no additional comment has been posted for over two weeks.
Two people (including the proposer) supported the proposal as written, and a third supported in principal but did not support a specific name. One other person initially supported and then withdrew their support on seeing opposing arguments. Two people opposed the proposal, because they did not believe or were not convinced the proposed name was the most appropriate. Everyone who commented about the proposal agreed a name change was a good idea, but but the names supported included "Wikipītia" (as proposed), Wikipitia (without a macron), "Wikipīria", or a new Māori term perhaps based around "mātāpunenga" rather than a translation.
To move forward, a conversation about the most appropriate name should be started separately, with expert input sought, as User:Nurg suggested. I emailed the Māori Language Commission for an opinion before Christmas but they have not responded. I am not in a position to look further for expert opinion and I'm not sure who else is in such a position.gadfium (talk) 02:37, 18 Hānuere 2022 (UTC)
(Conversation started a while ago, see above)
In Māori, the letter D does not exists and the sound EE is created by the letter Ī. The Hawaiian and Tahitian Wikipedias are Wikipikia and Vitipetia respectively to fit their language needs (Māori, Hawaiian and Tahitian are all Polynesian languages). I propose a vote here on the proposed new name. If the majority of contributors agree, could someone change the logo? I encourage all Māori Wikipedians to vote on this proposal, as consensus is required. Thanks! Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 04:25, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
Support
takatā- Support Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 04:25, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Support. I checked out the Maori Wikipedia just the other day and wondered why 'Wikipedia' wasn't transliterated. If other language wikis translate the name of 'Wikipedia' than mi-wiki should too. Nixinova (talk) from enwiki 21:47, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
Support. I note I am not a fluent te reo speaker, but having reviewed the discussion above it seems sensible to make this change (and certainly better than sticking with the status quo, which is not appropriate given there is no 'D' in the Māori language). Ngā mihi, Chocmilk03 (talk) 22:10, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)Withdrawing vote for the moment as there is dispute over correct transliteration and it appears more discussion may be needed. Chocmilk03 (talk) 18:38, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)- Either should will be used. Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 02:34, 20 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Support in principle - tautoko moving this to a more suitable name, but will defer judgement on what that name is (particularly whether or not the third i/ī has a macron or not) to more fluent speakers. Turnagra (talk) 19:05, 24 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
Against
takatā- Whakahē / Oppose. As I have outlined below I believe that the best orthography for the transliteration of Wikipedia into te reo Māori is Wikipitia, without a macron on the third i, and so cannot support the current proposal. Paora (talk) 08:49, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Either one should be used. Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 02:32, 20 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, pending further info. I would support changing to a Māori name, but I don't see enough info here as to why it should be Wikipītia.
- The modern tendency in creating new Māori terms is to use original components rather than transliterations, so the name could perhaps be based around mātāpunenga instead.
- If using a transliteration, why Wikipītia rather than Wikipīria? The English 'd' is just as often transliterated to the Māori 'r' (which is not the same as the English 'r') as it is to 't', e.g. Rāwiri for David. However, maybe 't' would be more appropriate – I just pose the question, as I am not sure.
- The original proposal of Wikipītia has now become "either Wikipītia or Wikipitia". It should be one or the other.
- An indication of the proposer's (Uluṟu Minecrafter) competence in Māori would be useful. The fact they are now globally blocked (as is their 'mate' and alleged puppetmaster Special:Contributions/Te Reo Ahitereiria) does not inspire confidence.
- I think this proposal should fail. If anyone wants to proceed with a name change, I suggest starting with a discussion about process, e.g. how would we seek expert input. The huge issue for this WP is not the name, but the current shortage (or is it a complete lack) of competent editors. Nurg (talk) 00:52, 1 Hānuere 2022 (UTC)
Neutral
takatāDiscussion
takatāTransliteration: either Wikipītia or Wikipitia will be used (hopefully this solves the dispute) @Paora @Chocmilk03. Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk)
I have mentioned this proposal on two pages of the English Wikipedia in the hopes of getting more feedback: en:Wikipedia:New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board#Discussion on renaming the Māori Wikipedia and en:Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board#Discussion on renaming the Māori Wikipedia. I have also posted at m:Wikimedia Forum#Discussion on renaming the Māori Wikipedia. If there are other places I should notify, please let me know or make the posts yourself.-gadfium (talk) 17:58, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
I'm going to to throe my weight behind the consensus of fluent te reo speakers who express an opinion on this. Without fluent speakers contributing (to this issue and the wiki) the whole thing is moot. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:43, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
Given that many people in Australia and New Zealand will be on holiday over the next few weeks, I suggest we let this run for a full month before evaluating a consensus. My plan is to not vote myself and be the closer, but if anyone would prefer I can ask at meta for an uninvolved person to close.-gadfium (talk) 22:18, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
Support the concept, not totally convinced about the proposed name. I'm not convinced that the macron is required; to my ear the length of all the vowels in Wikipedia is the same, so I would suggest Wikipitia rather than Wikipītia. I note that ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi also uses macrons to denote vowel length, and that Hawaiian Wikipedia, i.e. Wikipikia, does not include a macron in its name. Paora (talk) 23:00, 18 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- @Paora The macron is necessary otherwise the word sounds different. Macrons are very important in Māori, as the indicate a long vowel (i.e ā, ē, ī, ō, ū). So, with that being said, "Wikipītia" sounds like "wikipeetia" ("ī" sounds like "ea" in "spear" or a bit like "ee" in "sheep"), but "Wikipitia" sounds like "wikipitia" ("i" sounds "i" in words like "fish" and "six", when said with an Australian accent as New Zealanders pronounce those words "f/sh" and "s/x" respectively). I hope this helps. Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 01:51, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I am fully conversant with both te reo pronunciation and orthography, and understand the difference between i and ī. The sound of the aforementioned vowels is the same; the difference comes in the length of that sound. As I said previously, my hearing of the e in Wikipedia is that it is a short te reo i not a long te reo ī. I see nothing in your explanation above to persuade me otherwise. Therefore, when transliterating Wikipedia into te reo Māori, I continue to contend that the best kupu is Wikipitia and not Wikipītia, and would support the former. Consequently I cannot support the current proposal and will vote accordingly. Paora (talk) 08:47, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, I see what your saying and that makes sense. Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 00:17, 20 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)

I have no opinion at all on this subject, but I think it's worth pointing out that the proposer is a blatant sockpuppet of Te Reo Ahitereiria. Graham87 (talk) 00:47, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- That's a lie. I started contributing here when a mate of mine told me about how he made most Australia articles here, so I decided to join the wiki and plain to edit more often. I know who Te Reo Ahitereiria is (he is the one who told me about the wiki). Plus you don't edit here! You're an admin on the English Wikipedia, so you can't block people here. Thanks. Month and day names
takatāAlso, why are the dates here shown as English adaptations/bastardisations (e.g December is shown as Tīhema). There is a Māori calendar with day and month names that are not like this (e.g Sunday = Rātapu ≠ Hāne). Could someone fix this on [1]? Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 01:51, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- @Uluṟu Minecrafter: I have made this a new section because it's not connected to the name of the Māori Wikipedia.
- It's my understanding that Hakihea is a lunar month and is not quite identical to December.[2] Today is 19 Tīhema, but I think it is not necessarily 19 Hakihea, and I don't think we are ready to start using completely different month boundaries even if the Wikimedia software supports that. My understanding may be out of date. The date/timestamps don't show a day of the week for me; perhaps we have different preferences set or are using different skins. I have no objection to changing to the Māori rather than transliterated names of the days.-gadfium (talk) 02:31, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
- Okay thanks. Maybe you have English enabled as your display language (see if the sidebar on the left shows in Māori or English). Uluṟu Minecrafter (talk) 06:30, 19 Tīhema 2021 (UTC)
